Last fall we ate our way across New York to reveal the city’s healthiest burgers.
Now we’ve trained our pile of napkins on the best veggie burgers.
And to help, we asked Lukas Volger, author of Veggie Burgers Every Which Way and Vegetarian Entrees that Won’t Leave You Hungry, to weigh in on his five favorite patties.
His picks range from “indulgent and deep-fried to grainy and sensible.” We didn’t factor in calories, but Volger goes for veggie burgers “made from ingredients you can recognize—beans, whole grains, nuts, seeds,” he says.
“And any restaurant that tries to pawn off a souped up Gardenburger as their own creation…the nerve!”

My take is, most who eat a veggie burger are doing so for health reasons. Did you know NYC tap water has over 450 pharmaceuticals among other contaminates. Is your veggie burger made with Yummy NYC tap water? Quintessence filters their water down to 2 microns. Eliminating Fluoride and all the other contaminates of concern. I like Quintessence burger myself!

If it’s cooked in the deep fryer that’s used for meat it’s not a veggie burger.
You should really include Dean and Deluca’s veggie burger. It’s heavenly.
